how to get rid of cellulite fast

If you want to know how to get rid of cellulite fast, then this is the article for you. We can show you how to do exactly that, and what’s more, it’s not as difficult as you might think!

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the name given to the formation of lumps, dimples and wrinkly looking skin, often referred to as orange-peel skin, or cottage-cheese skin.

It can affect both men and women, but is far more common in women, with an estimated 80-90% of women experiencing cellulite at some time in their lives. This compares to only about 10% of men. It is also more likely to appear in women aged 40 plus, partly due to hormone and lifestyle changes.

The reason cellulite is more common in women than men, is thought to be due to the difference in the connective tissue structure. In women, the fat cells and connective tissue in the dermatological layer just below the skin are arranged vertically. If fat cells expand in women, they tend to protrude into the skin, resulting in the infamous dimple look. In men, the tissue structure is more of a mesh, making it harder for the fat to protrude into the skin.

Reduce Cellulite Naturally

Don’t go wasting your money on cellulite reducing pills, potions or creams. They are a complete waste of time and money. For the very few that actually do anything, the effects are minimal, temporary, and it often take ages, and hence a lot of money, to see any slight benefit, if at all.

The really great news is that cellulite is almost completely reversible in most cases.  All you need to do is address the main causes, which can be done in a perfectly natural and straightforward way.

So what are the main causes? Firstly, the accumulation of excess fat, and secondly, reduced circulation. Both issues are the natural results of aging, but they are both something that can be easily addressed. So read on and learn how to get rid of cellulite fast.

How to get rid of Cellulite Fast

Dry Brushing

This is one of the simplest, but most effective ways to reduce cellulite. The reason this appears to work so well is that it directly tackles one of the major causes of cellulite, namely poor circulation.

Dry brushing enhances blood circulation within the affected area, which in turn can reduce the appearance of cellulite. In order to get the best out of dry brushing, we suggest the following regime:

  1. Ensure both the brush to be used, and your body are completely dry. It is best to carry out dry brushing just before you shower.
  2. Always brush towards the heart as this will assist circulation more.   For example, if the cellulite is on the thigh, brush upwards from the knee, over the affected area of the thigh.
  3. Repeat this single brush movement for no more than 5 minutes using a slightly firm pressure.
  4. Shower afterwards in order to wash off any dead skin cells. Whilst in the shower, try alternating running 2-3 minutes of warm water and 2-3 minutes of cold water over the specific areas you are targeting. By doing this you will improve circulation to help eliminate the toxins that have been released. Plus it will assist stimulate cell renewal, and can even give your metabolism a quick boost too.

Drink More water

Drinking more water complements the Dry Brushing mentioned above.  Water is essential in the elimination of toxins and fat that are released into the body through Dry Brushing. Drinking more water will help cleanse your body from the inside out. It is vital to improve blood flow, help you achieve better-looking skin, and has many other benefits too.

Water can also improve the strength of collagen and connective tissue in your skin, making your skin firmer, and reducing that dimpled look caused by cellulite. Ideally you need to be aiming to drink half your body weight in ounces each day.

Don’t Be A Couch Potato

Ideally you should find a leisure activity that requires movement. Lots of it. Alternatively, why not get up just 30 minutes earlier each day and go for a brisk walk. It is nothing short of amazing, just how much difference this can make in your fight against cellulite.

At work or at home in the evening, try not to sit down for longer than an hour at a time. Just get up and move about for 5-10 minutes to keep the circulation going. It all helps get rid of cellulite. Better yet, see if you can get yourself a ‘standing desk’, it makes such a difference and just by standing up, the small effort of keeping your balance can really help your circulation.

Cut Out Certain Foods

It would be best to reduce, or preferably cut out altogether, simple carbohydrates like white flour, sugar and all processed foods. Why not give up alcohol, which is full of sugar, for a while also.

Sugar is a real bad guy when it comes to cellulite. It is responsible for a whole host of negative effects such as the accumulation of fat, inflammation, and also causes premature aging and poor skin elasticity. Three primary factors involved in cellulite production.

There is some evidence that caffeine can also make cellulite worse. It can have a negative effect on blood flow, and also hamper getting vital oxygen and nutrients to skin tissue. For this reason, try to limit the amount of coffee, cola and energy drinks you consume.

Have A Massage

We are not talking about a nice relaxing pampering massage. To get the maximum benefit for cellulite reduction, by increasing circulation, the massage needs to be quite firm. A Deep Tissue Massage would be best, but this may prove too much for some, just make sure it is more than a featherlike pampering massage. To be honest though, the deeper the better, and ideally it also needs to be for no less than 10 minutes too.

You might want to have juniper oil massaged into the areas where you have cellulite areas at the same time. As an essential oil, juniper oil known to have detoxifying properties that can aid with reducing fluid retention and help rid the body of harmful fat deposits. Massaging this oil onto the cellulite areas for 10 minutes every day can help.

Eating fish like salmon and halibut is one of the best ways to ensure you are getting a good natural source of omega-3. Omega-3 helps reduce feelings of hunger, and is also good for repairing skin tissue.   To derive maximum benefit it is best to steam the fish.
